The One-Question Laundry Poll

I hate doing laundry. Although, while I hate to do the laundry, what I hate the most is the folding and putting away part. I just can’t take that.

I’m writing a blog and need some input from you faithful blog followers. It isn’t about whether or not you enjoy doing laundry (if you do, please kindly show yourself the door). It isn’t your least favorite part.

One question, your input is both valued and anonymous. Thanks!

    I almost clicked NEVER.
Because both Hubs and I do this…we buy a shirt…usually it fits us perfectly (we are not stick people so if it fits we don’t screw around with it)…we wear it …we hang it, we wear it, we hang it…repeatedly until we have no choice but wash it. We don’t WANT to wash it…because it will never fit right, look right, not shrink (even when it says it’s preshrunk), will suddenly turn into a ball of wrinkles…ever tried to iron a top that has layers of ruffles because it wrinkles like aluminum foil every single time I wash it…and I LOVE that shirt. I actually have TWO…one in pink and one turquoise..and it’s USELESS…unless I spend an hour ironing..and it looks not quite right after I iron it…so …
    yeah…change my answer to never.
I’ve decided I’m going to wear my clothes til I can’t anymore.then buy new ones….yeah…hubs will LOVE that..lol

Shirt inspection – is it heavily creased or baggy, is it stained, do the armpits niff? Nope? Back on the hanger. I don’t mind stuffing the washing machine, but hand-wash only? Why, oh why do I buy these things?

I know! I always see the tag that says “hand wash only” or “dry clean only” and I kick myself!!

Mmm, I thought you were going to ask about ‘folding and putting away’. I’ve minimized that to only what would get ridiculously wrinkled by sitting in the clean laundry basket for days… So, shirts. 🙂

My life story. What can last in the basket a few days? Just a few more … just a few more …. hahahah

Depends on what I’m doing while wearing the shirt.
    Mowing the yard = dirty
Going to work, sitting at computer all day, not sweating = OK to wear again.
Sitting on the couch watching TV and eating Dairy Queen = Depends (haha)

Depends on? If you spill? 😉

My absolutely most hated chore is dishes. Every now and then I wonder about buying paper and plastic and forgetting the clean up………but then, I realize that would cost a lot more and work against the grain of trying to be somewhat environmentally conscious in our house. Laundry I don’t like, but it’s not my most hated chore. Thankfully my son is old enough now to know how to run the machines, so I can sometimes get him to do a load for me. 🙂

What I don’t like about dishes is how much they dry out my hands. Hate that!

I love you for the honesty of this post…or the insinuated honesty. lol I hate laundry because we have to go to the laundromat and it is a pain. If, however, I had it here at home I wouldn’t mind. It was my favorite chore when I was younger.(no chore is wonderful, but there is always one you hate less) I think I liked it because I could do so many other things at the same time or at least watch TV while I folded it. Putting it away only took a couple minutes. I hate scrubbing stuff though. Anything that involves scrubbing OH AND TIDYING. scrubbing or tidying…doesn’t happen. I’m a pig
and this is a super long comment.

I think a lot of my hatred of laundry has to do with the laundromat too. We have one in our apartment and I always have to fight with people from a different apartment complex that shouldn’t even be there to use our own machines. I don’t like scrubbing stuff either…

You know, I’m an incredibly lazy creature, but the one chore I’ve never minded doing is laundry. Folding can be a drag sometimes, but it’s not terrible.
Cleaning stuff or picking up after myself is much more onerous.

Can you come do my laundry? Please??
