Creating is a dream. Being paid for it is a privilege.

Over the years, I have waffled back and forth between wanting to sell my writing, offer paid subscriptions for my blog and podcast, do pop up art fairs, and work in branded content. I’ve freelanced, charged flat rates for created content and writing, and done it all for free. What I find is the best balance is that I ask people to pay what they can as a one time payment, or do so for extended content over on Patreon. Many artists – of all varieties – have offered this type of payment over the years, and it is, in itself, a profound statement of what both a dream and privilege the life of creating is.
